No presente artigo, se tem por objetivo examinar a passagem da Poética de Aristóteles na qual ele compara a história à poesia, atribuído à última mais filosofia e seriedade devido ao seu caráter universal, apoiando-se nas interpretações de alguns renomados comentadores ingleses.
