In his reading and interpretation of fragment 16 of Heraclitus of Ephesus, Heidegger seeks to go back to the roots of Western thought in order to pave the way for what he calls another beginning. For Heidegger, the fragment speaks of ALÉTHEIA, but does not actually speak about it. It is therefore a matter of recovering for our historical future a fundamental experience that would have been lost, when truth as correction became the obsession of metaphysical thought. In this article, however, I seek to problematize some aspects of this reading, which prevent us from perceiving precisely the living presence of Heraclitus' thought in Antiquity.
